DI-12 Breakaway / Yield Motorized Torque Tester
In a Breakaway test, torque is applied to fastener that is already tightened. When enough torque is applied and the fastener begins to turn or breakaway, the test stops.
In a Yield test, torque is applied to a fastener until the screw or base material thread begins to deform, then the test stops.

Torque controlled power tools are set to apply consistent torque, but fasteners are not necessarily tightened to that value. Breakaway torque tests are used to measure the actual tightening torque of the fastener.

DI-12 Motorized Torque Tester measures breakaway torque automatically without overtorquing already tightened fasteners. Once breakaway torque is determined, powertools can be reset to the proper tightening torque.

DI-12 also detects the yield torque value of untightened fasteners. Proper tightening torque can be determined as a percentage of yield torque value.

DI-12 features selectable units (lbf-in, kgf-cm and N-m), and Peak, Real Time or Breakaway/Yield measuring modes.

Torque data can be continuously output to data acquisition software via RS-232, enabling you to display torque profiles of breakaway and yield torque.

P-P: Displays PEAK Torque value that will not change until a higher value is measured.
T-R: Displays TRANSIENT torque values.
RG: Determines peak down and yield torque (CW only)
If a peak down torque value is detected, the green indicator will light, and tester rotation will stop automatically.

Start of RG Mode can be set in 0.001 N-m increments.
RS-232 Output
